4.1 Real World Connections, NGSS and Common Core

a. Select 2 Common Core standards (This link takes you to the NGSS standards. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page to find the Common Core) that best support the NGSS ones covered in the previous two lessons (MS-ESS3-3 and MS-ESS3-4). Record the standards you chose with an argument for why you chose them in your journal or in the Lesson 4 Response Form if you are taking this course for credit.

b. Review the Creative Change Educational Solutions (CCES) lessons found in this course (Lesson 1.2  A Day in Your Life,  Lesson 1.3 Human-Environmental Interdependence,  Lesson 3.2 Measuring and Graphing your Ecological Footprint). What are the opportunities to meet the standards? Record your responses in your journal or in the Lesson 4 Response Form if you are taking this course for credit.

c. Reflect on the following questions:

-What are you already doing in your classroom that addresses the standards covered in this course?

-What are new ideas you learned in this course that you could use to alter your own lessons? 

-From all of the lessons/activities in this course which do you feel would be the easiest to incorporate into something you are already doing? Explain.
