This is one of two course 'texts' which will be used for lessons 2-4.
One of the challenges involved in teaching about climate change is sorting through the vast array of educational resources available on the Internet. Few teachers have the time to find, evaluate and select the best resources. To help address this problem we have assembled a collection of key climate change and sustainability resources to accompany this course. These resources supply fundamental background information and serve as a launch point for exploration of how you can bring sustainability and climate change concepts and learning experiences to your students. The two online publications listed below are recent reports issued by some of the world’s most influential scientific organizations. They are written in clear language designed to answer common questions about climate change and will serve as “texts” that you will refer to throughout Lessons 2-4.
Before you begin lesson 2 download both course text pdfs. As you work through Lessons 2-4, these booklets will be referred to as CCE&C and WWK, respectively. The climate change lessons also make use of videos from San José State University’s Green Ninja Project (http://www.greenninja.org/), a climate change education initiative which is funded by NASA’s Innovations in Climate Education (NICE) program and other sponsors.
